Amazon India Launches Third Edition of Innovative Machine Learning Summer School

In the fast-paced world of technology, Amazon India continues to spearhead initiatives that bridge the gap between academia and industry. The third iteration of its Machine Learning (ML) Summer School, set to launch soon, exemplifies this commitment. The program’s primary goal is to equip students with comprehensive knowledge of ML technologies and industry practices, propelling them towards a successful career in the field.

The ML Summer School, which extends over four weekends in September, provides engineering graduates with an immersive experience in the realm of machine learning. The curriculum, consisting of eight modules, covers topics such as Supervised Learning, Deep Neural Networks, Probabilistic Graphical Models, Dimensionality Reduction, and Unsupervised Learning. It was carefully crafted by field experts and is available for free.

What truly sets Amazon’s ML Summer School apart is its innovative pedagogical approach. The program seamlessly intertwines theoretical foundations with practical applications. This unique blend is achieved by integrating scientific curricula from prestigious universities with industry trends, ensuring that students receive a holistic and well-rounded education. The Amazon ML Summer School has demonstrated remarkable growth since its inception in 2021. In the previous year, the program attracted a staggering 17,500 registrations from engineering students across India, highlighting its popularity and relevance. In 2023, the program is expanding its scope to include students from any recognized institute within India. This expansion is expected to bring in an even more substantial number of participants, further enriching the learning experience for all involved.

For aspiring participants, key dates to remember include the opening of registrations on August 22, 2023. An insightful leadership talk on the prospects of Machine Learning opportunities at Amazon is scheduled for September 1, 2023. Prospective participants must ensure their registrations are completed before the deadline on September 6, 2023. The selection test, slated for September 9, 2023, will comprise two sections: Part A featuring 20 multiple-choice questions on fundamental ML concepts and mathematical principles, and Part B with two programming questions. The examination will take place during a time frame of 60 minutes.

The chosen participants will be informed of their selection by September 13, 2023, and the Amazon ML Summer School is scheduled to unfold across eight days, encompassing September 16, 17, 23, 24, 30, October 1, 7, and 8. The program will be held virtually, enabling widespread participation.

Aspiring participants should note that eligibility is extended to engineering students enrolled in Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD programs in recognized Indian institutes, with an expected graduation in either 2024 or 2025. One of the most noteworthy aspects of this initiative is that there are no registration or course fees, ensuring that access to quality education remains unbarred.
