AI for India 2.0: Free AI Skill Training Course Launched by Education Ministry

AI Skill Training Course: Union Minister of Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan, unveiled the launch of AI for India 2.0, a comprehensive online training program on Artificial Intelligence, on World Youth Skills’ Day.

Developed as a collaborative effort between Skill India and GUVI, this esteemed online program is accredited by the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) and IIT Madras, aiming to equip young individuals with cutting-edge skills.

During the inauguration, Pradhan emphasized the importance of breaking down language barriers in the field of technology. He called for the inclusion of technology courses in various Indian languages, recognizing the significance of such initiatives in empowering the youth. By bridging the language gap in technology education, he stated that it would ensure the future-proofing of India’s young talent, particularly those residing in rural areas.

Highlighting India’s tech-savvy nature, the minister applauded the nation’s successful adoption of digital payments, citing it as a testament to India’s prowess in the technology domain. He expressed his satisfaction with GUVI for taking the initiative to educate and empower the underprivileged sections of society with advanced technological knowledge.

Pradhan wholeheartedly praised this novel undertaking and envisioned widespread accessibility to AI learning across every corner of the country. By leveraging GUVI’s expertise, he envisions a future where individuals from all backgrounds can easily access and benefit from AI education.

GUVI, a startup incubated at IIT Madras, is a technology platform that facilitates tech learning in vernacular languages. As part of the AI for India 2.0 program, GUVI has meticulously curated content in nine major Indian languages, ensuring that language diversity is celebrated and learning opportunities are extended to all.

The launch of AI for India 2.0 marks a significant step in the direction of fostering a technologically skilled workforce in India. By providing free access to quality AI education and addressing language barriers, this program promises to empower and equip the youth with the frontier skills required to thrive in the ever-evolving digital landscape.
