Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Semicon India 2025 today at around 10 a.m. at Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, New Delhi. The three-day global conference, scheduled from September 2 to 4, is designed to accelerate the growth of India’s semiconductor ecosystem and position the country as a global hub for chip design, manufacturing, and technology innovation.
The Prime Minister will also take part in the conference on September 3, where he is expected to engage in a CEOs’ roundtable with industry leaders.
The event will feature sessions on a wide range of themes including progress under the Semicon India Programme, semiconductor fabrication and packaging, infrastructure readiness, smart manufacturing, R&D innovations, artificial intelligence, and investment prospects. Discussions will also touch upon state-level policy frameworks, global cooperation, and future strategies to strengthen India’s position in the semiconductor sector.
Special emphasis will be placed on initiatives like the Design Linked Incentive (DLI) scheme, support for start-ups, and workforce development. Dedicated country pavilions and roundtable meetings with representatives from six countries are also part of the agenda.
According to officials, the conference will bring together over 20,750 participants, including more than 2,500 delegates from 48 countries, around 150 speakers, over 50 international leaders, and nearly 350 exhibitors.
The Semicon India series has been hosted in Bengaluru (2022), Gandhinagar (2023), and Greater Noida (2024). This year’s edition in New Delhi continues the government’s push to showcase India as a key destination for semiconductor innovation and investment.
