
The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has officially commenced the online application process for the Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) 2025. Eligible candidates can now register through the board’s official portal, secondary.biharboardonline.com, starting September 8. The application window will remain open until September 16, 2025.
The STET is a mandatory qualification for aspirants aiming to secure teaching positions in secondary and higher secondary schools across Bihar.
Lifetime Validity of Certificate
For the first time, candidates who clear the STET 2025 will be awarded a certificate with lifetime validity. The certificate will enable qualified candidates to apply for the upcoming fourth phase of teacher recruitment (BPSC TRE-4), scheduled for December 2025.
Exam Dates and Results
The computer-based examination is scheduled between October 4 and October 25, 2025. Results will be declared on November 1, ensuring candidates meet the eligibility criteria for TRE-4 on time.
Age Limit and Relaxations
The maximum age limit for applicants is 37 years. However, female candidates as well as those belonging to Backward Classes (BC) and Most Backward Classes (MBC) will receive a relaxation of three years in the upper age limit.
Exam Structure
The STET will comprise two papers:
- Paper 1 (Secondary level): Subjects include Hindi, Urdu, Bangla, Maithili, Sanskrit, English, Bhojpuri, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Economics, Commerce, Political Science, Physical Education, Music, Dance, Fine Arts, and Special Education.
- Paper 2 (Higher Secondary level): Subjects include Hindi, Urdu, Bangla, Maithili, Sanskrit, English, Bhojpuri, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Economics, Commerce, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, Home Science, Arabic, Persian, Computer Science, Agriculture, and Music.
Each paper will carry 150 questions, with 100 from the subject chosen and 50 assessing teaching aptitude and related competencies. The total duration of the test will be two and a half hours.

- Register using a valid email ID and mobile number.
- Log in to fill the application form with personal and educational details.
- Upload documents, pay the application fee, and submit the form.
- Download and save a copy of the submitted application for reference.
BSEB has advised candidates to complete the registration process well in advance to avoid last-minute technical glitches.
