Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday expressed confidence that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will secure a stronger mandate in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. He emphasized that the alliance, which includes the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Janata Dal (United) [JD(U)], and other regional partners, is working in close coordination to ensure electoral success.
Speaking at the Times Now Summit 2025, Shah highlighted the achievements of the NDA governments at both the Centre and in Bihar. “The NDA alliance is very strong in Bihar. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, significant progress has been made in the state’s development,” he stated.
The Bihar Assembly elections are anticipated to take place in October this year. The Nitish Kumar-led NDA government is currently in power, with JD(U) also playing a key role in the Modi-led central government. Over the past few months, NDA allies have held multiple meetings to strategize for the upcoming elections. Shah’s remarks signal the BJP’s confidence in retaining power in Bihar with a stronger electoral backing.
