75th Republic Day Celebrations Across India

As India commemorates its 75th Republic Day, the Kartavya Path in the heart of the national capital witnesses a grand display of military prowess and rich cultural heritage by the armed forces. French President Emmanuel Macron graces the occasion as the chief guest.

Aligned with the themes of ‘Viksit Bharat’ and ‘Bharat – Loktantra Ki Matruka,’ this year’s parade features the participation of 13,000 special guests. Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to fallen heroes at the National War Memorial in Delhi, leading the nation in solemn tributes with a wreath-laying ceremony. The iconic memorial at the India Gate complex, inaugurated by PM Modi in 2019, serves as a poignant reminder of sacrifices made for the nation.

In Agartala, school children actively participate in the 75th Republic Day celebrations. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar unfurls the national flag in Patna, sharing the spirit of the day by distributing sweets among students.

President Droupadi Murmu unfurls the national flag, marking the commencement of military and cultural pageantry with colorful tableaux from different states. Kartavya Path witnesses a majestic march past by a combined band and marching contingent of the French armed forces.

Nationwide celebrations unfold with fervor, as Jammu and Kashmir observes Republic Day amid heightened security due to recent terrorist attacks on the Army. A multi-layered security apparatus ensures the smooth conduct of parades and celebrations, with important buildings adorned in the tricolor.

In Srinagar, security personnel guard the clock tower, symbolizing the vigilance and dedication to national security. Cyclists in Assam’s capital, Guwahati, join a cycle rally to mark the 75th Republic Day.

At the India-China border in Arunachal Pradesh, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) soldiers celebrate by marching near the border area, waving the Indian flag and chanting “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.”

Symbols of patriotism adorn the nation as the Baba Mahakaleshwar shivling is embellished with the tricolor during the Bhasma Aarti. Bhimgarh Fort in Jammu and Kashmir illuminates the night with vibrant tricolored lights.

Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik crafts a mesmerizing sand art dedicated to India’s 75th Republic Day, using capsicums, flowers, oranges, and lemons to spell out the message “Happy Republic Day” and “Mera Bharat Mahan hai (My India is great).”

The eve of Republic Day witnesses a dazzling display of patriotism as government buildings, establishments, and major roads light up with the Tricolour. A total of 16 tableaux from states and Union territories, along with nine from central ministries and departments, will roll down the Kartavya Path during the parade, symbolizing the diverse tapestry of India’s unity in its 75th year of independence.
