ICC Announces Schedule for 2023 Men’s ODI Cricket World Cup in India

The International Cricket Council (ICC) recently unveiled the schedule for the highly anticipated 2023 men’s ODI cricket World Cup. Set to begin on 5th October, this 50-over tournament will commence at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, India. The opening match will feature a clash between the 2019 World Cup finalists, England and New Zealand, setting the stage for an exhilarating start to the event. Adding to the excitement, Pakistan’s cricket team will be making their first visit to India in seven years, with a match against the host country scheduled in Ahmedabad on October 15.

India, the host nation, is eager to secure another World Cup victory on home soil, having last triumphed in the ODI format in 2011. Since then, Australia and England have claimed the title in their respective countries in 2015 and 2019. This year, India aims to reclaim the glory and etch their name once again in cricket history.

The remaining two teams will emerge from the ongoing World Cup Qualifiers being held in Zimbabwe.

The tournament will unfold across ten different venues, including Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Dharamsala, Delhi, Chennai, Lucknow, Pune, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Kolkata.
