President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to undertake a 2-day visit to the Uttar Pradesh starting Monday, participating as the chief guest in a series of special events.
On December 11, the President is set to preside over the 45th convocation ceremony at Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith in Varanasi. Later in the evening, she will be a distinguished guest at the 27th-anniversary celebration of the Divine Heart Foundation (India) in Lucknow.
Providing further insights, DM Surya Pal Gangwar outlined the President’s itinerary, highlighting her participation in a program at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Gomtinagar, commemorating the 27 years of the Divine Heart Foundation. Additionally, President Murmu will officiate the convocation of the Indian Institute of Information Technology-Lucknow (IIIT-Lucknow) on Tuesday, December 12.
DM Gangwar chaired a meeting on Wednesday to review the logistical arrangements. He emphasized the need for seamless traffic management along the President’s transport routes. Gangwar instructed officials to ensure the city’s cleanliness, directing the cleaning of drains, filling of potholes, and installation of iron grills on road medians.
DM asserted that all departments should proactively prepare to welcome the President. The Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) and Public Works Department (PWD) should guarantee sufficient barricading along the VVIP route through which the President’s convoy will pass.
Furthermore, Gangwar urged officials to establish a mini-office for the President at both the program venues and the Raj Bhavan, where she will be accommodated during her stay. The meticulous planning and execution of these arrangements aim to ensure a smooth and dignified visit for President Droupadi Murmu, reflecting the city’s commitment to hosting such esteemed events.
