Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is set to participate in the YUGM Conclave today at around 11 AM at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. During the event, he will address a distinguished gathering of leaders from government, academia, industry, and the innovation ecosystem.
YUGM, which signifies “confluence” in Sanskrit, is a pioneering strategic conclave that aims to bolster India’s innovation landscape. It marks the beginning of a collaborative initiative involving an investment of approximately Rs 1,400 crore, jointly supported by the Wadhwani Foundation and various government institutions.
Aligning with the Prime Minister’s vision of a self-reliant, innovation-driven India, the conclave will witness the launch of several landmark projects. Notably, Superhubs will be established at IIT Kanpur, focusing on AI and Intelligent Systems, and at IIT Bombay, specializing in Biosciences, Biotechnology, Health, and Medicine. Additionally, Wadhwani Innovation Network (WIN) Centers will be set up at leading research institutions to accelerate the commercialization of research outcomes.
A key highlight of the conclave will be the formalization of a partnership with the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) to jointly fund late-stage translation projects and further promote a robust research and innovation environment.
The event will feature high-level roundtables and panel discussions engaging senior government officials, industry stalwarts, and academic leaders. These dialogues will center on strategies to fast-track the translation of cutting-edge research into tangible societal and economic impacts. A Deep Tech Startup Showcase will also be held, presenting breakthrough innovations from across the country, along with exclusive networking sessions designed to foster new collaborations and partnerships.
The YUGM Conclave aspires to catalyze significant private sector investment in India’s innovation ecosystem, expedite the research-to-commercialization process in frontier technologies, and strengthen the collaboration among academia, industry, and government. It also seeks to support national initiatives like the ANRF and AICTE Innovation programs, democratize access to innovation resources, and align national efforts toward the goal of a developed India under the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.
