In a significant development for the state of Telangana, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for multiple crucial infrastructure development projects today. With a total worth of approximately Rs 6,100 crores, these projects are expected to have a transformative impact on the region’s connectivity and economic growth.

The infrastructure initiatives include the construction of National Highway Projects covering a massive stretch of 176 kilometers, valued at over Rs 5,550 crores. Additionally, a state-of-the-art Railway Manufacturing Unit in Kazipet, costing over Rs 500 crores, is set to be established. These projects mark a major step towards bolstering Telangana’s transportation networks and enhancing its industrial capabilities.

Addressing a gathering on this momentous occasion, Prime Minister Modi acknowledged Telangana’s significant contributions to the nation’s history, despite being a relatively young state of just nine years. He praised the Telugu people for their exceptional capabilities, which have played a vital role in propelling India to become the world’s fifth-largest economy. The Prime Minister expressed his confidence in India’s growing opportunities, with the country increasingly being seen as an attractive investment destination worldwide. He also highlighted the term “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India) to reflect the nation’s aspirations and potential.

Prime Minister Modi emphasized the vitality of utilizing the current period, which he described as a golden era for the nation in the third decade of the 21st century. He stressed the importance of inclusive development, with no part of the country being left behind. The Prime Minister commended Telangana’s progress in infrastructure and connectivity over the past nine years. He congratulated the people of Telangana on the projects worth over Rs 6,000 crores, which are poised to accelerate the region’s growth.

Highlighting the significance of modernizing infrastructure to achieve rapid development, the Prime Minister emphasized the detrimental impact of obsolete transportation systems on businesses. He underlined the government’s commitment to address these challenges by accelerating the pace and scale of development across the country.

Prime Minister Modi cited the expansion of highways, expressways, and economic corridors, which are transforming India’s transportation network. In Telangana alone, the highway network has witnessed a twofold increase from 2,500 kilometers to 5,000 kilometers. The construction of an additional 2,500 kilometers of national highways is currently underway.

Telangana is also becoming a hub of economic activity by connecting surrounding economic centers through projects like the Hyderabad-Indore Economic Corridor, Chennai-Surat Economic Corridor, Hyderabad-Panji Economic Corridor, and Hyderabad-Visakhapatnam Inter Corridor.

Drawing attention to the Mancherial-Warangal section of the Nagpur-Vijayawada Corridor, whose foundation stone was laid on this occasion, Prime Minister Modi highlighted its role in providing modern connectivity between Telangana, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh. The corridor will reduce travel distances and alleviate traffic congestion, benefitting numerous tribal communities residing in the area. Additionally, the four-laning of the Karimnagar-Warangal section will enhance connectivity to the Hyderabad-Warangal Industrial Corridor, Kakatiya Mega Textile Park, and Warangal Special Economic Zone.

Prime Minister Modi emphasized that improved connectivity in Telangana directly benefits industries, tourism, and agricultural sectors. The ease of travel to heritage centers and places of faith has been significantly enhanced, while the agricultural and granite industries in Karimnagar have received substantial support. He emphasized that the government’s efforts have positively impacted various sections of society, providing new employment and self-employment opportunities for youth closer to their homes.

Underlining the importance of the Make in India campaign and its role in generating employment for the youth, the Prime Minister highlighted the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, designed to promote manufacturing within the country. He informed the audience about more than 50 major projects being implemented in Telangana under this scheme. The Prime Minister also mentioned India’s record-breaking defense exports, which have surged from Rs 1,000 crores nine years ago to over Rs 16,000 crores today. He applauded Hyderabad-based Bharat Dynamics Limited for its achievements in this sector.

In addition, Prime Minister Modi acknowledged the Indian Railways’ manufacturing achievements, including the production of thousands of modern coaches and locomotives. With the foundation stone laid for the Railway Manufacturing Unit in Kazipet, he highlighted its role in rejuvenating the Indian Railways and becoming an integral part of the Make in India initiative. The establishment of this unit is expected to create new employment opportunities, benefitting families in the region.

In his concluding remarks, Prime Minister Modi reiterated the government’s commitment to “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” (Collective Effort, Inclusive Development) and urged Telangana to embrace this mantra for its progress and development. With the inauguration of these crucial infrastructure projects, Telangana is set to witness accelerated growth and play a key role in India’s journey toward becoming a developed nation.
