Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to embark on a two-day visit to Rajasthan and Gujarat on 27th and 28th July 2023. During his visit, he will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate various significant development projects aimed at fostering growth and welfare in the regions.
On 27th July, the Prime Minister will kick off the day’s proceedings in Sikar, Rajasthan. At approximately 11:15 AM, he will dedicate several development projects to the nation in a public programme. One of the major highlights of this event will be the dedication of 1.25 lakh PM Kisan Samriddhi Kendras (PMKSKs) to the nation.
These Kendras are envisioned as one-stop solutions for farmers’ needs, providing crucial information on agri-inputs, soil and seed testing facilities, and details on various government schemes. Additionally, they will facilitate the capacity building of fertiliser retailers at the block and district level outlets.
Another crucial announcement will be the launch of “Urea Gold,” a new variety of urea coated with sulphur. This innovative fertiliser will address soil sulphur deficiencies, increase nitrogen use efficiency in plants, reduce fertiliser consumption, and enhance crop quality. Its economic and efficient attributes make it a significant step towards sustainable agriculture.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the onboarding of 1500 Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) on the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC). This initiative will empower FPOs with direct access to digital marketing, online payments, and B2B and B2C transactions, thereby stimulating local value addition and boosting rural logistics growth
In yet another display of commitment to farmers’ welfare, the Prime Minister will release the 14th instalment amounting to approximately Rs. 17,000 crores under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. This direct benefit transfer will benefit more than 8.5 crore beneficiaries.
Moreover, Rajasthan will witness a significant expansion in its healthcare infrastructure with the inauguration of five new medical colleges in Chittorgarh, Dholpur, Sirohi, Sikar, and Sri Ganganagar. Additionally, the foundation stone will be laid for seven medical colleges in Baran, Bundi, Karauli, Jhunjhunu, Sawai Madhopur, Jaisalmer, and Tonk.
These initiatives are part of the Central Government’s efforts under the “Establishment of new medical colleges attached with existing district/referral hospitals” scheme. The 12 new medical colleges will significantly increase the number of MBBS seats in the state, enhancing medical education and healthcare accessibility for the people of Rajasthan.
On 28th July, the Prime Minister will move to Rajkot, Gujarat. At around 3:15 PM, he will take a walkthrough of Rajkot International Airport, assessing its development and progress. Subsequently, at 4:15 PM, he will inaugurate several development projects at Race Course Ground, bolstering infrastructure and growth in the region.
Later that day, at approximately 10:30 AM, the Prime Minister will inaugurate SemiconIndia 2023 at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar. This prestigious event will showcase cutting-edge advancements in the semiconductor industry, fostering technological innovation and economic growth.
