The Indian government has scheduled an all-party meeting on Thursday, May 8, to apprise political leaders of the recent military action carried out by the Indian armed forces against terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju announced the meeting via a post on social media platform X, stating: “Govt has called an All Party leaders meeting at 11 am on 8th May, 2025 at Committee Room: G-074, in the Parliament Library Building, Parliament Complex in New Delhi.”
The high-level briefing comes a day after the government confirmed that Indian military forces conducted a “measured, non-escalatory, proportionate, and responsible” strike across the border. The operation reportedly targeted terrorist facilities in an effort to dismantle the infrastructure used to launch cross-border attacks.
According to official sources, the strike was intended to both deter and prevent further terrorist activities, particularly in the wake of the recent Pahalgam attack that claimed several lives and raised national security concerns.
Senior political leaders from across the spectrum are expected to attend the meeting, which will provide details on the scope, objective, and aftermath of the strike. The government aims to build political consensus and share intelligence with opposition parties regarding the national security move.
This development reflects India’s firm stance on combating terrorism and safeguarding national security interests while maintaining diplomatic responsibility and avoiding escalation.
