The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to mark its 45th foundation day with a series of events across Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. The celebration, commemorating the party’s formation on April 6, 1980, will include a variety of programmes designed to engage party members and the public at large.
BJP state president Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary announced on Saturday that a special committee has been constituted at the state level to coordinate and supervise the activities. State general secretary Sanjay Rai has been appointed as the convenor of the committee.
As part of the celebrations, BJP workers will adorn party offices throughout the state and hoist the party flag at their residences. District-level exhibitions showcasing the party’s growth and achievements over the past 45 years will also be organized.
Starting Monday, floral tributes will be offered at every booth to honour key ideological figures such as Syama Prasad Mookerjee, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, and Bharat Mata. This will be followed by a two-day series of conferences on Tuesday and Wednesday for active party members in each assembly constituency.
These conferences will focus on the BJP’s organisational growth, its impact on Indian politics, and the development journey under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the past 11 years. Booth committee members, ‘panna pramukhs’, primary and active members, and senior party workers are expected to take part in these discussions.
Senior party leaders, including ministers, MPs, MLAs, and office-bearers, will attend the events and deliver speeches at the booth level to inspire and motivate grassroots workers.
The foundation day celebrations aim to strengthen the party’s presence at the grassroots level while highlighting its contributions to India’s political landscape.
