The search for two individuals missing after a devastating landslide in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district stretched into the third day on Saturday. Rescue teams, aided by improved weather conditions, have intensified efforts to locate the missing persons and restore connectivity in the affected region.
According to state officials, the overall toll from rain-related incidents this monsoon has risen to 366, while 41 people remain unaccounted for across Himachal Pradesh. The easing of heavy rainfall has allowed earthmovers and rescue workers to reach previously inaccessible spots, accelerating both search and relief measures.
Teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and local authorities are engaged in round-the-clock operations. Roads damaged by incessant rains are being cleared to ensure smooth movement of equipment and emergency supplies.
Authorities have urged residents to remain alert as the terrain remains fragile, though the reduction in rainfall has brought some relief to the state.
