The government is expected to release the 21st installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme soon, most likely in the first half of November 2025, though no official date has been announced yet. Ahead of the rollout, farmers are being urged to complete their e-KYC and verify all details to avoid delays or payment failures.
Under the scheme, eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 annually in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each — distributed during the April–July, August–November, and December–March cycles. The amount is directly transferred to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.
21st Installment Update
According to official sources, the 21st tranche — initially expected in October — is now likely to be credited in November. Meanwhile, on October 7, 2025, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan released the 21st installment in advance for flood and landslide-affected farmers in Jammu and Kashmir.
A total of ₹171 crore was directly transferred to the bank accounts of 8.55 lakh farmers, including over 85,000 women beneficiaries, through a virtual event from Krishi Bhavan, New Delhi. With this, farmers in the Union Territory have collectively received ₹4,052 crore under the PM-Kisan scheme so far.
Importance of Completing e-KYC
To receive the upcoming installment without interruption, farmers must complete the mandatory e-KYC (Electronic Know Your Customer) process. Failure to do so can result in removal from the beneficiary list.
There are three ways to complete e-KYC:
- OTP-Based e-KYC: If your Aadhaar is linked with your mobile number, visit pmkisan.gov.in and authenticate via OTP.
- Biometric e-KYC: Visit your nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) for fingerprint-based verification.
- Facial Authentication: Senior citizens and differently-abled farmers can complete e-KYC through facial recognition at CSCs.
