In a gesture to promote public engagement and appreciation for nature, the Amrit Udyan of Rashtrapati Bhavan is set to welcome visitors during the Udyan Utsav-1, 2024, from February 2 to March 31. The picturesque gardens, known for their lush greenery and captivating landscapes, will be accessible six days a week, excluding Mondays designated for maintenance.
To cater to diverse audiences, special categories have been designated on specific days:
- February 22: Access granted exclusively for differently-abled individuals.
- February 23: Reserved for personnel from defense, paramilitary, and police forces.
- March 1: Open for women and tribal women’s Self-Help Groups (SHGs).
- March 5: Specifically for children from orphanages.
Visitors can plan their trips during six hourly slots, running from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The morning slots (10:00 am to 12:00 pm) on weekdays can accommodate 7,500 visitors, while weekend capacity is expanded to 10,000 visitors per slot. Afternoon slots (12:00 pm to 4:00 pm) on weekdays can host 5,000 visitors each, and weekends will have a capacity of 7,500 visitors per slot. Booking for these slots is available on Rashtrapati Bhavan’s official website.
For spontaneous visits, walk-in visitors are welcome and can register at facilitation counters or the Self-Service Kiosk near Gate No. 12 of Rashtrapati Bhavan.
All visitors are required to enter and exit through Gate No. 35 of the President’s Estate, conveniently located where North Avenue meets Rashtrapati Bhavan. To facilitate easy transportation, a shuttle bus service will run every 30 minutes from the Central Secretariat Metro Station to Gate No. 35, operating between 9:30 am and 5:00 pm.
During the tour, visitors will traverse through the enchanting Bonsai Garden, experience the Musical Fountain, stroll through the Central Lawn, explore the Long Garden, and immerse themselves in the serenity of the Circular Garden. For added convenience, food courts will be available at the exit.
In line with modern amenities, visitors are allowed to carry mobile phones, electronic keys, purses/handbags, water bottles, and milk bottles for infants. Provision for drinking water, toilets, and first aid/medical facilities will be strategically placed along the public route, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
