Prime Minister Narendra Modi is gearing up for a series of public rallies in Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka today, as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) intensifies its efforts to consolidate support ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
In Madhya Pradesh, PM Modi is scheduled to address a rally in Pipariya town, located in the Narmadapuram district, formerly known as Hoshangabad. This district is a crucial battleground, being part of the Hoshangabad Lok Sabha constituency. The Prime Minister’s speech is expected to focus on rallying support for BJP candidates contesting in the parliamentary seats of Hoshangabad, Betul, Chhindwara, and Mandla.
Chhindwara, in particular, holds significance as it is considered a stronghold of former Chief Minister and veteran Congress leader Kamal Nath. The BJP has nominated Darshan Singh as its candidate for Hoshangabad, pitting him against Congress nominee Sanjay Sharma, a former MLA. The electoral contest in Madhya Pradesh is heating up as Hoshangabad gears up for polls on April 26.
Madhya Pradesh, with its 29 Lok Sabha constituencies, stands as the sixth-largest state in terms of parliamentary representation. In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, BJP clinched a resounding victory in the state, securing 28 out of the 29 seats, while the Indian National Congress (INC) managed to win just one.
Following his engagement in Madhya Pradesh, PM Modi will proceed to Karnataka, where he will hold a public meeting in Mysuru at 5:00 pm. This event marks the beginning of his campaign trail leading up to the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka. Fourteen constituencies in the southern parts of the state are slated to go to polls on April 26, while the remaining 14 in the northern parts will vote on May 7.
The Prime Minister’s visit underscores the BJP’s strategic focus on both Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka, aiming to secure a significant mandate in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. As political temperatures rise, all eyes are on PM Modi’s rallies, anticipating the tone and tenor that will shape the electoral landscape in these crucial states.
