Ram Mandir Ayodhya

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today (November 25, 2025) hoisted the sacred saffron flag atop the towering spire of the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, marking the formal completion of the grand temple complex nearly 22 months after the consecration of the Ram Lalla idol. The historic ceremony, held on the auspicious occasion of Vivah Panchami, drew thousands of devotees and dignitaries, who witnessed what many described as a significant spiritual milestone for the nation.

The triangular saffron flag, measuring 10 feet in height and 22 feet in length, was hoisted during a shubh muhurat around noon in a ceremony known as Dhwajarohan. Rich in symbolism, the flag features a radiant Sun representing Lord Ram’s Suryavanshi lineage, the sacred syllable ‘Om’, and the Kovidara tree, collectively signifying divinity, brilliance, and valour. According to temple authorities, the flag was specially crafted by a parachute expert from Ahmedabad, following precise specifications from the Defence Ministry to suit the temple’s towering height and architectural grandeur.

Nearly 7,000 guests attended the event, including RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The rituals were performed by 108 Acharyas from Ayodhya, Kashi, and South India under the guidance of renowned Kashi scholar Ganeshwar Shastri, adding depth and authenticity to the proceedings. The timing on Vivah Panchami, which marks the divine wedding of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita, further heightened the religious significance of the ceremony.

Ayodhya was decked up with flowers, lights, rangolis, and a spectacular laser show that illuminated the temple town. A massive security arrangement involving thousands of personnel, barricades, and digital surveillance ensured smooth conduct of the event. While only invited guests were allowed inside the temple complex, large LED screens installed across the city and nearby areas enabled devotees to witness the ceremony remotely.

The 2.7-acre temple complex now includes 14 additional temples, with the main spire rising above the sanctum sanctorum as its crowning feature. The ceremony was broadcast live on national television, allowing millions across the country to witness the culmination of decades of legal, political, and social developments surrounding the site.
