The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee is anticipated to release the GATE 2025 admit card soon. Candidates who have registered for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 can download their admit cards from the official website, gate2025.iitr.ac.in, once they are made available.
The GATE 2025 examination is scheduled to take place on February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025. This computer-based test (CBT) is conducted for admission to postgraduate engineering programs, with the examination centers divided into eight zones. Results for GATE 2025 are expected to be declared on March 19, 2025.
The exam includes a total of 30 papers, giving candidates the option to select one or two test papers from the permissible combinations. The duration of the examination is three hours. GATE scores will remain valid for a period of three years from the date of result announcement.
The question format for GATE 2025 comprises Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions. Candidates will be assessed on various parameters, including Recall, Comprehension, Application, Analysis, and Synthesis skills.
Negative Marking Policy
For MCQs, negative marking applies as follows:
- For a 1-mark question, 1/3 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
- For a 2-mark question, 2/3 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates in their third year or higher of any undergraduate degree program or those who have completed a government-approved degree program in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts, or Humanities are eligible to appear for GATE 2025.
Steps to Download the GATE 2025 Admit Card
- Visit the official IIT GATE website at gate2025.iitr.ac.in.
- Click on the “GATE Admit Card 2025” link on the homepage.
- Enter your login details on the newly opened page.
- Click on “Submit” to view your admit card.
- Verify all details on the admit card and download it.
- Print a hard copy of the admit card for future use.
Candidates must bring a printed copy of the downloaded admit card on A4-sized paper to the examination hall for verification, along with the original and valid photo identification document specified during the application process. Photocopies, scanned copies, or expired documents will not be accepted.
Examination Hall Guidelines
Candidates are prohibited from carrying personal calculators, any type of watches, wallets, mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, or any other electronic or communication devices into the examination hall. Additionally, books, charts, tables, loose sheets, papers, data handbooks, pouches, or boxes are not allowed. Possession of such items will result in disqualification, irrespective of their use.
