The conflict escalated, and the Indian Air Force also joined the efforts by conducting airstrikes under ‘Operation Safed Sagar’ on May 26. With relentless determination and valor displayed by the Indian armed forces, they managed to recapture all the military posts in Kargil that had been occupied by Pakistani infiltrators. Finally, on July 26, 1999, Indian Army declared Operation Vijay a resounding success, marking a decisive victory for India.
