Preparations are in full swing across Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, and several other states as devotees gear up to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayak Chaturthi. The festival, dedicated to Lord Ganesha—the deity of wisdom, prosperity, and new beginnings—holds immense cultural and spiritual significance.
Every year, families bring home beautifully crafted idols of Lord Ganesha, observe rituals, prepare festive delicacies, and host prayers during the 10-day celebration known as Ganeshotsav. The festivities conclude with grand processions and the immersion of idols in water bodies on Anant Chaturdashi, also referred to as Ganesh Visarjan.
This year, Ganesh Chaturthi will begin on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, and end on Saturday, September 6, 2025, according to Drikpanchang.
