IMD Issues Orange Alert for Heavy Rainfall in Several States Including Uttarakhand, MP, Rajasthan, and Gujarat

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for multiple states as parts of the country brace for heavy to very heavy rainfall over the weekend. According to the IMD’s latest bulletin issued on July 12, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat are expected to receive intense showers on Saturday, July 13, continuing into early next week.

The IMD stated that “heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and north Gujarat until July 15.” Meanwhile, Uttarakhand is expected to witness heavy downpour on July 13.

In the national capital, residents can expect a partly cloudy sky with light rain and occasional thunderstorms. Though there is no formal rain alert, the IMD anticipates short spells of light precipitation over the coming days.
