Fresh Spell of Monsoon Showers Expected in Mumbai This Week

Fresh Spell of Monsoon Showers Expected in Mumbai This Week

After a brief pause in heavy rains, Mumbai is gearing up for another wet spell as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast fresh showers beginning Tuesday.

The city enjoyed comparatively calmer weather over the weekend, following days of intense downpours last week that had disrupted normal life with waterlogging, traffic snarls, and train delays. However, IMD has now placed Mumbai under a yellow alert, signalling the possibility of moderate to heavy rain across several parts of the metropolis and its suburbs.

Forecast for Mumbai and Surrounding Districts

The weather department has also predicted light rain for districts including Thane, Raigad, Satara, Kolhapur, Osmanabad, Beed, and Nanded today.

Advisory for Commuters

Authorities have urged residents to remain cautious, as renewed heavy showers may once again lead to waterlogging, traffic congestion, and delays in local train services. Mumbaikars have been advised to track live weather and traffic updates while planning their travel.

Despite the temporary lull, Mumbai’s monsoon rhythm continues, keeping civic agencies and citizens on alert as the season progresses.
