Role Overview
The Consultant Grade-2 will support evidence-based decision-making in the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Institutions division. The role involves policy analysis, research, stakeholder coordination, and documentation of best practices to strengthen programme effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft policy briefs, notes, and recommendations.
- Analyse socio-economic datasets to support programme decisions.
- Provide technical inputs for the design, review, and convergence of Rural Development (RD) programmes.
- Support knowledge dissemination through reports, publications, and digital platforms.
- Engage and coordinate with line departments, agencies, and relevant stakeholders.
- Document and compile best practices across RD initiatives.
Educational Qualifications
Essential:
- Master’s Degree in a relevant subject
OR - Professional degree requiring 4+ years of study after 10+2 (e.g., B.Tech / BE / AMIE / CA / ICWA / LLB / MBBS / PhD)
- Must have completed Secondary (10th)
Desirable:
- M.Phil or Ph.D. in Public Policy, Economics, Rural Development, Social Sciences, Agriculture, or related fields.
Work Experience
Essential:
- 8–15 years of professional experience.
Desirable:
- 10+ years in policy research, programme management, or advisory roles, preferably with Government or multilateral agencies.
- Published research in reputed journals, reports, or knowledge platforms related to rural development or public policy.
- Strong analytical, writing, communication, and coordination skills.
Working knowledge of analytical/statistical tools such as STATA, SPSS, R, Python, or advanced Excel.
