ULLAS Mobile App Launched by Union Education Min on NEP 2020's 3rd Anniversary

ULLAS Mobile App Launch: The Prime Minister inaugurated Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam 2023 at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi on 3rd anniversary of NEP 2020. The event was attended by dignitaries and saw the launch of ULLAS (Upper Level Learning Assurance System) mobile application, ULLAS Karyakaram, and its official ULLAS logo and ULLAS slogan, “Jan Jan Sakshar”.

The Union Minister of Education and Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan, was present at the event and officially launched the ULLAS mobile app. In his address, Pradhan emphasized that the ULLAS app represents a significant milestone in utilizing technology to make basic literacy widely accessible.

The app, designed to be user-friendly and interactive, is available on both Android and iOS platforms, serving as a digital gateway for learners to access diverse educational resources through the DIKSHA portal of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). The ULLAS app facilitates the registration of learners and volunteers through self-registration or by the assistance of surveyors.

Minister Pradhan underscored that ULLAS would focus on promoting functional literacy, vocational skills, and critical life skills such as financial literacy, legal literacy, digital literacy, and empowerment of citizens to actively participate in nation-building. Furthermore, the initiative aims to foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge-sharing within communities across India.

The ULLAS (Understanding Lifelong Learning for All in Society) initiative aspires to revolutionize education and literacy throughout the nation, bridging the gaps in basic literacy and crucial life skills. It aims to provide basic education, digital and financial literacy, and critical life skills to citizens aged 15 and above who may have missed the opportunity to receive formal schooling. The implementation of the program will be carried out through volunteerism, encouraging citizens to actively participate in the process of empowering their fellow citizens with knowledge.

The newly unveiled logo and slogan, “ULLAS: Nav Bharat Saksharta Karyakram,” symbolize the enthusiasm and vigor of the campaign. It reflects the vision of knowledge illuminating every corner of the country, empowering citizens with the transformative power of education, and nurturing a thirst for learning in every individual.

To motivate volunteers to participate actively in the ULLAS initiative as a sense of duty towards nation-building, the scheme offers incentives such as credits in school/university and recognition through certificates, appreciation letters, felicitations, and more.

For those interested in joining the ULLAS: Nav Bharat Saksharta Karyakram and contributing to the nation’s education and literacy drive, the mobile application can be downloaded from both the Google Play Store and the iOS App Store.
