TCIL Pays Rs 14.20 Crore Dividend to Government for FY 2022-23

Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd (TCIL), a Mini Ratna Category – I Status Company under the Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications, has disbursed a dividend of Rs 14.20 crore to the government for the Financial Year 2022-23. The Chairman & Managing Director of TCIL, Sanjeev Kumar, formally presented the dividend cheque to Neeraj Mittal, Secretary, Telecom.

TCIL, established in August 1978, has consistently proven to be a profit-making entity since its inception. The company has a remarkable track record, having paid a cumulative dividend of Rs 294.19 crore to the Government until the FY 2022-23, reflecting its financial stability and growth.

The dividend is based on the Government’s initial investment of Rs 0.3 crore in equity, with an additional infusion of Rs 16 crore during the fiscal year 2015-16. As of March 31, 2023, TCIL boasts a group net worth of Rs 1,712.00 crore and a standalone net worth of Rs 618.56 crore.

In the fiscal year 2022-23, TCIL achieved an impressive revenue growth of 25 percent compared to the previous year. The total standalone revenue and profit after tax for the year stood at Rs 2,001.7 crore and Rs 35.50 crore, respectively, showcasing the company’s resilience and business acumen.

TCIL’s Expanding Overseas Operations and Pan-African Initiatives

TCIL, with the Government of India holding 100 percent of its share capital, operates as a prime engineering and consultancy company. The company is involved in a diverse range of projects spanning Telecommunications, IT, and Civil construction both in India and abroad. Over the years, TCIL has executed projects in more than 70 countries globally.

The company’s overseas operations extend to countries such as Kuwait, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Oman, Mauritius, Nepal, and others. TCIL is also actively involved in the Pan Africa e-Vidya Bharti & Arogya Bharti Network project, operating in more than 15 African countries, with more countries expected to join in the future.

In addition to its international ventures, TCIL is playing a pivotal role in executing high-value Government of India projects. These include Rural ICT for the Department of Posts, NFS for Defence, Navy Network, Bharatnet Project for APSFL, Telangana Fiber, BBNL VSAT, Indian Coast Guard, MHA, CCTV Surveillance Projects for State Police, Smart Cities, Railways, e-education, and e-Health Projects.
