Yamuna Floods in Delhi: The relentless rise of the Yamuna River water levels has caused significant disruptions to the Delhi Metro operations, impacting commuters on Thursday. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announced that the approach road leading to the Yamuna Bank Metro Station is presently inaccessible due to the escalating water levels.
In a tweet addressing the situation, the DMRC stated, “Due to the escalating water levels of the Yamuna River, the approach road leading to Yamuna Bank Metro Station is currently inaccessible. Kindly plan your journey accordingly and consider alternate routes. However, an interchange facility is available.” This information has been provided to help commuters navigate the affected areas smoothly.
The Yamuna River, flowing through the heart of the national capital, has surged beyond the danger mark, with the water level reaching 208.48 meters on Thursday morning. Consequently, the rising water has flooded major roads and caused considerable inconvenience for the city’s residents.
Recognizing the severity of the situation, the Delhi traffic police have issued advisories for commuters and implemented traffic diversions on several roads to alleviate congestion and ensure public safety.

The overflowing waters have infiltrated various locations, including Chandgiram Akhada on ISBT road, Nigam Bodh Ghat road, Indira Gandhi Stadium road, Ring Road near ITO, GT Karnal road, Old Yamuna bridge – ‘Loha Pul,’ and low-lying areas near Kashmiri Gate.
