RailTel Corporation of India’s stock surged more than 8% in early trade on Monday after the company announced a fresh order worth ₹209 crore, strengthening its order book further.

The state-owned telecom and IT solutions provider informed the exchanges that it has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from the State Project Director, Bihar Education Project Council (BEPC). The contract, under the central government’s PM SHRI initiative, focuses on education quality enhancement in Bihar. RailTel is required to complete the project within one year, by September 11, 2026. The official work order was issued on September 12, 2025.

This development comes just days after RailTel secured another contract valued at around ₹32.5 crore from Panvel Municipal Corporation. That project involves deploying and maintaining SD-WAN based internet lease lines and MPLS lines for the Panvel Safe City initiative. The five-year contract is scheduled for completion by March 19, 2031.

Market Reaction
The announcement boosted investor sentiment, with RailTel shares opening higher at ₹381.90 on the BSE compared to the previous close of ₹374.65. The stock later rallied to ₹407.75, marking an intraday gain of over 8%.

Stock Performance
After witnessing a sharp decline between September 2024 and March 2025 due to valuation concerns and weak market trends, RailTel’s stock has been on a recovery path. The shares had tumbled from a 52-week high of ₹486.55 in September 2024 to a low of ₹265.30 in April 2025. Since then, steady order inflows and improving investor confidence have pushed the stock upwards.

With its latest contract wins, RailTel continues to strengthen its position as a key digital infrastructure player within the railway PSU segment.
