Amit Shah Hails Operation Sindoor as a Major Strategic Success, Says Pakistan 'Scared'

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday lauded the Indian armed forces’ precision strikes under Operation Sindoor, stating that the operation marked a significant achievement in India’s fight against terrorism and showcased the nation’s growing military might.

Addressing a public gathering in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, Shah emphasized that the operation sent a strong message to Pakistan and the global community, showcasing India’s determination to eliminate terror threats. “Since Prime Minister Narendra Modi assumed office, India has responded to terrorist attacks with such strength that the world stands amazed and Pakistan is frightened,” Shah remarked.

Operation Sindoor was launched in retaliation to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam. According to Shah, Indian forces carried out targeted strikes deep inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoK), successfully destroying terror launchpads of outfits such as Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen.

He revealed that nine major terror infrastructure sites, used for training and harboring militants, were eliminated in the operation. “We struck at the heart of terror outfits’ headquarters, 100 kilometres inside Pakistani territory, and killed over 100 terrorists,” the Home Minister said.

Shah also praised India’s air defence capabilities, stating that under PM Modi’s leadership, the system has become robust enough to neutralize any threat from across the border. “When Pakistan attempted to attack from the western front, our Air Defence System ensured that not a single missile or drone entered Indian territory,” he said.

He further claimed that India’s retaliatory air strikes incapacitated 15 of Pakistan’s air bases without harming civilians, effectively neutralizing the country’s capacity to launch aerial attacks.

Operation Sindoor, Shah added, was a testament to the synergy between political resolve, accurate intelligence, and military prowess. The strikes, carried out on May 7, were a direct response to the Pahalgam attack, and demonstrated India’s readiness to protect its sovereignty and citizens.

Though both nations agreed to halt military actions on May 10, India has clarified that the pause is conditional and future operations will depend on Pakistan’s conduct moving forward.

The Home Minister’s remarks come amid a wave of national attention on India’s counter-terror strategy, further reinforcing the government’s commitment to national security and its firm stance against terrorism.
