In a resolute commitment to foster cleanliness and hygiene across India, the Ministry of Ayush is set to play a pivotal role in the upcoming “Ek Tareekh Ek Ghanta Ek Saath” initiative, scheduled as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign on October 1, 2023. This noteworthy campaign, which emphasizes concerted efforts towards a “Garbage Free India,” will see extensive participation from the Ministry of Ayush and its affiliated bodies.

The Ministry of Ayush has meticulously crafted a comprehensive plan, encompassing more than 220 events to be conducted through its National Institutes, Research Councils, and subsidiary organizations. Additionally, the National Commission of Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) and the National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH), through their extensive network of over 750 colleges, will actively engage in this nation-wide campaign.

The Ministry has also reached out to various states and Union Territories, urging them to join in the shramdaan (voluntary labor) activities at all Ayush Health and Wellness Centers operated under the National Ayush Mission (NAM). Simultaneously, over 100 institutions and organizations under the Ministry of Ayush from across the country have pledged their participation in this laudable initiative.

Underscoring the gravity of the campaign, Secretary of the Ministry of Ayush, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, convened a meeting at Ayush Bhawan on September 25, 2023, to review the progress made thus far. He emphasized the need for genuine, ground-level activities carried out in a participatory manner, asserting, “Genuine ground activities based campaign in a participatory mode should be ensured.”

To ensure the seamless execution of the campaign, the Ministry has appointed a nodal officer of Joint Secretary level, tasked with overseeing the preparation of the entire initiative and coordinating activities to be held on October 1, 2023. The overarching theme for the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2023 is “Garbage Free India,” aligning closely with the nation’s broader clean India mission.

In addition to their pivotal role in the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign, the Ministry of Ayush has been actively engaged in the Ayushman Bhav Campaign. They have been organizing weekly Ayush Health Melas across India through their Ayush Health and Wellness Centers under the National Ayush Mission.

As of now, more than 580 Health Melas have been conducted, benefiting over 28,000 individuals. The campaign is ongoing, with approximately 8,000 functional Ayush Health and Wellness Centers geared up to host more Health Melas in the near future.

With the Ministry of Ayush‘s unwavering dedication to fostering a clean and healthy India, the “Ek Tareekh Ek Ghanta Ek Saath” initiative promises to make significant strides in achieving the goal of a “Garbage Free India” on October 1, 2023, marking another crucial step toward a cleaner and more prosperous nation.
