Sanjay Malhotra has been appointed as the 26th governor of the Reserve Bank of India, succeeding Shaktikanta Das. His tenure begins on December 11, 2024.

Career Highlights 

A 1990 batch IAS officer from Rajasthan cadre, Malhotra holds degrees from IIT Kanpur and Princeton University. He has over 33 years of administrative experience.

Sector Expertise

Malhotra has worked in power, finance, taxation, IT, and mines. His leadership roles include Revenue Secretary and Secretary in the Department of Financial Services.
